Dense is…how you see it?

This week we are asked to “…get into the thick of things…a natural landscape… or take the theme in a different direction, from a sweaty crowd at a rock concert or a busy avenue during rush hour.”

As we were planning a day in Muir Woods I thought I would wait before responding to the challenge.  I’ve learned that for me photographing redwoods is nearly impossible but I give it a go every so often.  Hence this image to give a clue as to the “denseness” of Muir woods…

However I prefer the “denseness” of the many macro scenes in the forest…

Green is…Where You Find It!

This week’s challenge is to “…bask in the color of spring rebirth (and leprechauns)…” or, in the alternative…”go more interpretive… try an image of something you envy, or a photo inspired by the one of the other common associations with green (life, health, youth, money, hope).”

THIS WEEK I AM CHEATING TO THE MAX!  I simply entered the word “green” in my photo collection and came up with a mural photo from Greenbrae, California  🙂

In my defense, there is some “green” in the image  🙂

Atop A Single Stem…

…Two Daffodils!

I take this WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge literally…Instead of a view from “Atop” I present two blooms atop a single stem…

As to whether this is unique I cannot attest.  But it is the first time for me!

Petaluma Lions 2017 Food & Libations Festival

The Petaluma Host Lions Club annual food, wine & craft beer festival was held on March 11, 2017 at the Petaluma Veterans Memorial building. Proceeds from this annual event benefit the High Schools through Project Graduation.

The Petaluma Host Lions Club has supported Project Graduation in the Petaluma community for the past 25 years. Safe and sober graduations are the result of the involvement of the entire community – parents, teachers, volunteers, vendors and the students themselves.

I first offer photo collages of some of the participating food vendors…

High School students provided the musical entertainment…

Before the doors opened the floor was empty…

The Road Taken…Or not

For this week’s WordPress Photo Challenge we are asked to “…show…something that surprised you on the road taken. It could be a heritage building in your city or town as seen from a new-to-you angle, a yummy meal on a road trip detour, or the penny you found on a casual stroll.”

Ah, there are so many possible responses given my daily walks around Downtown Petaluma.  The scenes change with the seasons, the time of day, the weather, and pure happenchance…and whether I turn right or left.

The images below of a Baby Night Heron in the Petaluma River was a happy surprise.  I rarely see them as adults…much less the youngsters! If had elected to walk down another street I would have missed it completely…
