The “mushroom” featured in this “life cycle” series is one of many that “cropped up” this spring in our gardens.  I have absolutely no idea as to its type–it’s probably illegal…somewhere; however, it is similar to those that toppled a heavy garden ornamental a few weeks earlier (See Petaluma Mushroom Power)

  • In terms of size, the mushroom reached a height of 6 1/2 inches and a diameter of 3 1/2 inches.  When it flared or opened, the diameter was about 5 1/2 inches.
  • The time period covered by this series is April 22 through April 27, 2011.
